Our BEST list from the trip

On the way home Thursday night/early Friday morning, we brainstormed a list of "bests" from our trip. We decided to come up with just one list, so if we disagreed on a best we had to convince the other that our best was the best best (so to speak). It was a good way to stay awake on the drive. :)  So, here they are, the best....

state - Montana, with Colorado coming in as a close second

dinner - Jake's in Portland, OR

store - Powell's bookstore in Portland, OR

wayside rest - Texas

entertainment - TEXAS, the musical

wildlife - the grizzly bears in Colorado

snapshot - Bailey "typing" her blog

natural sight - Garden of the Gods in CO

walk - hiking in the Garden of the Gods in CO

Reserve Center - Boise, Idaho

BX (base exchange store) - Oklahoma City, OK

hotel - Billings, MT

breakfast - at the Springhill Suites in Oklahoma City

historical sight - Fort Clatsop in WA (where Lewis and Clark spent their second winter)

day - Sat. July 26 (the day we went shopping - little or no driving took place!)

car feature - XM radio

scenery - Crater Lake, OR

beer - the one we shared after our hot hike down to Crater Lake and back

dessert - Sydney's Sinful Sundae at Outback Steakhouse (Ron's favorite dessert in the world!)

couch - Katie and Colin's new couch - so big and comfy

interstate - I90

best hotel room layout - Residence Inn, Eagan, MN (two story, pull out Murphy bed as well as a "regular" bed, felt like a seaside cottage)

burger - Z's Gourmet Burger (in Everett, WA) - a small burger stand next to the gas station by our hotel)

bridge - the one over the Royal Gorge in CO
