July 23 - Ogden, Utah to Boise, Idaho

Utah pictures above. Idaho pictures below.

Today we left Ogden, Utah about 8 a.m. headed for Idaho. (We stayed in the Marriot pictured and ate at the Mongolian Barbeque – Ron’s favorite kind of restaurant.) Utah has been another beautiful state to drive through – lots of hilly areas, regular looking hills and also some “folded, crimped” hills. Hard to explain, but neat to see. It was evident we’d hit Idaho when the terrain started to look more like North Dakota - lots of fields of crops, hay bales, cows, etc.. However, you can still see mountains/buttes in the distance. As we got further into Idaho, the terrain started to get hillier and the buttes were closer. (The past few days the sky has been kind of a hazy, blue-grey which makes my photos sort of look washed out. It probably doesn’t help that I’m shooting landscapes as we pass by at 75+ miles per hour.) Ron met with the CO of the Boise, Idaho Reserve Center today. I had a few hours at the hotel during his meeting to do some laundry and work on some picture organizing. I’m still trying to go through all of the pictures we took at Giant’s Ridge and get them sent to Shutterfly, so please be patient with me! :)

Who knew the west was so pretty? Tell us what isn't as nice about the west so we remember why we love Minnesota.
